VNCRC - mpthrill.com rc scripts project for the vnc software.
many people who likes using vnc over their unix boxes needs addons that will help them to manage the vnc and run it on startup.
unix rc scripts are made to meet those issues.
here are a few rc scripts i wrote for some unix and unix like systems (some of the scipts supports multiuser some not):
download:
Solaris/SunOS
Solaris/SunOS KSH
FreeBSD
*OpenBSD
*NetBSD
Linux (tested: RedHat)
Linux Bash
Linux (Debian) - contributed by: wookey - wookey[AT]debian.org
QNX
Amiga
download the whole package of scripts
how to install?
Solaris:
make two symbolic links to this file /etc/rc.d/rc.5/S92vnc ->
/etc/rc.d/init.d/vnc
and /etc/rc.d/rc.5/K36vnc -> /etc/rc.d/init.d/vnc
K36vnc stops the vnc service at shutdown or reboot, and S92vnc
will start the vnc server when entering runlevel 5.
KSH:
same here symbolic links from init.d/vnc to /etc/rc2.d/S99vnc.
Linux:
symbolic link to rcx.d and original file in the init.d directory.
FreeBSD:
cp the file in your /usr/local/etc/rc.d/
*** same in all BSD systems ***
BeOS:
cp the file in your /boot/home/config/boot/ direcory and name it,
or cat >> it, to file "UserBootscript"
QNX:
help will be available soon.
Amiga:
