Freddi Robinson, one of the first Israeli owners of online casino software firm Playtech, sold his shares in the company four years ago before the online casinos boom. Subsequently, Robinson lost out on making his fortune when interest in the industry skyrocketed. Instead of the 30 million U.S. dollars that Robinson would have made if he'd sold his five percent shares in the online casino games software company today, he only made a small 3.9 million in 2002.
However Robinson is keen to rekindle his involvement in the online casinos industry. Recently the businessman has purchased shares in Greece's Loutraki Casino and has expressed interest in a deal with a little known Cyprus-based online casino gaming software firm to start a new group of online casinos under the Miloumor trademark. The new casino gaming venture will focus on Central and Eastern Europe and will be powered by the Cypriot online casinos gaming software.
Meanwhile, Playtech is planning for its IPO on the London Stock Exchange. Industry analysts are predicting the online casino games software developer's floatation will surpass even that of online casinos giant Party Gaming. Figures ranging between 800 to 950 million U.S. dollars have been quoted in relation to the casino games company's valuation. |
