AOL, one of the internet's oldest and biggest service providers, announced this week that it had plans to take on elements of the online casino industry by creating its very own online blackjack site. In a recently formed partnership with Game Show Network AOL is venturing into the online casinos territory by adding blackjack to their list of popular casino games. The blackjack site is not an operating online casino per say but more of a portal with tons of resources for fans of online casino gambling. It is expected to go live by April 2006 and will include free blackjack games, tips from the experts, and exclusive behind-the-scenes coverage of the upcoming World Series of Blackjack TV later this summer.
AOL games offer many other online casino favorites and is also working on a new project which will incorporate online and interactive TV games, such as Lingo and Ballbreakers to name a few. It's clear that the popularity of these games at the online casinos has helped push big internet companies like AOL to focus on games such as blackjack. AOL forged a partnership with Harrah's Entertainment which created the World Series of Poker site featuring free poker games.
Ralph Rivera the general manager of AOL Games had this to say about the upcoming blackjack and other online casino related projects: "Casino games such as blackjack and poker have become wildly popular among mainstream audiences and that trend is reflected on AOL Games." There are many great resources on the internet for fans of online casino gambling to discover and benefit from. |
