Court of China has recently sentenced imprisonment for 9 referees of Football. They have been accused for taking bribes for fixing matches. One among the sentenced football referees was Lu Jun. Lu Jun has twice received the title of “Best Referee of the Year.” In addition, Lu Jun has taken the charge of Olympic and World Cup matches. However, at present, judge of Chinese court has sentenced him for imprisonment of approximately 5 and ½ years. In the month of December 2011, China has taken trial sessions for tackling with match fixing. During these trail sessions, they have charged approximately 60 coaches, players, referees and officials for taking bribes for fixing many football matches. The match fixing scandal has incorporated both of these games in CSL (Chinese Super League) and in friendly fixtures. One of the clubs involved in the match fixing scandal is Shanghai Shenhua, which has been highlighted to take bribes of approximately $1 million for fixing matches.
